WHAT ABOUT ROMANS 8:38-39?

Nothing can separate us?

Certainly, one of the most commonly misunderstood passages in the Bible is Rom. 8:38-39, as commonly presented by the eternal security teachers of our day. These two often-mentioned verses say:

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the LOVE OF GOD that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
In quoting this passage, the eternal security adherents argue that it proves that once we are saved we are always saved; and even though "sin" isn't mentioned in Paul's list, it is understood to be included, hence no sin committed after initial salvation will condemn a person!

The first thing that needs to be stressed is there is a definite DIFFERENCE between the "LOVE" of God as mentioned in Rom. 8:38-39 and the "LIFE" of God, according to Scripture! This is easily proven by noting that UNSAVED people are LOVED by God, even though they are devoid of His LIFE! A clear case in point is the rich, young ruler who was certainly UNSAVED, yet LOVED by Jesus (Mk. 10:21)!

It must be further noted that this same unsaved man, like all unsaved people, are "separated from the LIFE of God," (Eph. 4:18) but, again, not separated from His LOVE! Since one only has salvation when he has the LIFE of God, Rom. 8:38,39 does NOT assure an unconditional salvation on the basis of God's infinite love!

"Your Iniquities Have SEPARATED You From Your God"

Finally, those who read the word "sin" into the list cited by Paul in Rom. 8:38-39 contradict the clear and the plain truth for Isa. 59:2 states, "But your iniquities have SEPARATED you from your God"! Don't let anyone convince you otherwise, even a fluent-speaking, popular TV and/or radio teacher or author! The Apostle Paul wrote,
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Cor. 6:9-10).
To try to limit this listing to only those that never tasted salvation, as some do, is to deny the basic meaning of these words, according to the dictionary! By this I mean an "adulterer" is a person, ANY person, who commits adultery. This is factual even if the person was saved BEFORE his act of adultery, as David clearly was! Hence, the people cited in 1 Cor. 6:9-10, though numerous in our country, will ALL go to the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8), the only other place to go if one misses the kingdom of God, that is, unless they repent! One can only wonder how many people described in 1 Cor. 6:9-10 and Rev. 21:8 have no fear of going to Hell because they were DECEIVED by eternal security teachers!

WHAT IS SIN, NOT ACCORDING TO THE WORLD (BUT ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD).....THE SCRIPTURES!!

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW. (1 John 3:4 KJV)

But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, IS THEREFORE CHRIST THE MINISTER OF SIN? GOD FORBID . (Galatians 2:17 KJV)

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that THE PROMISE BY FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST might be given to them that believe . (Galatians 3:22 KJV)

So Christ was once OFFERED TO BEAR THE SINS OF MANY; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:28 KJV)

but if you show partiality, YOU COMMIT SIN, AND ARE CONVICTED BY THE LAW AS TRANSGRESSORS.  (James 2:9 NKJ)

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to BE DEAD INDEED UNTO SIN, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:11 KJV)

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then WITH THE MIND I MYSELF SERVE THE LAW OF GOD; but WITH THE FLESH THE LAW OF SIN. (Romans 7:25 KJV)

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN.  (Romans 3:20 KJV)

WHAT THEN? SHALL WE SIN , because we are not under the law, but under grace? GOD FORBID. (Romans 6:15 KJV)

What shall we say then? IS THE LAW SIN? CERTAINLY NOT! On the contrary, I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN SIN EXCEPT THROUGH THE LAW. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet."  (Romans 7:7 NKJ)

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH. (Romans 8:2 KJV)

But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded , saying , The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, BUT EVERY MAN SHALL DIE FOR HIS OWN SIN. (2 Chronicles 25:4 KJV)

And if Christ be in you, THE BODY IS DEAD BECAUSE OF SIN; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (Romans 8:10 KJV)

"THE LORD REWARDED ME ACCORDING TO MY RIGHTEOUSNESS; According to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me. (2 Samuel 22:21 NKJ)

Therefore THE LORD HAS RECOMPENSED ME ACCORDING TO MY RIGHTEOUSNESS, According to my cleanness in His eyes. (2 Samuel 22:25 NKJ)

THE LORD SHALL JUDGE THE PEOPLES; Judge me, O Lord, ACCORDING TO MY RIGHTEOUSNESS, And according to my integrity within me. (Psalms 7:8 NKJ)

THE LORD REWARDED ME ACCORDING TO MY RIGHTEOUSNESS; According to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me. (Psalms 18:20 NKJ)

And I WILL CLEANSE THEM FROM ALL THEIR INIQUITY, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned , and whereby they have transgressed against me. (Jeremiah 33:8 KJV)

Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, NOR WITH ANY OF THEIR TRANSGRESSIONS: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned , and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God (Ezekiel 37:23 KJV)

Yea, ALL ISRAEL HAVE TRANSGRESSED THY LAW, even by departing , that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we HAVE SINNED AGAINST HIM. (Daniel 9:11 KJV)

FOR ALL HAVE SINNED , AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD; (Romans 3:23 KJV)

Wherefore , as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that ALL HAVE SINNED :(Romans 5:12 KJV)

For THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to THE LAW OF SIN WHICH IS IN MY MEMBERS. (Romans 7:23 KJV)

Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh HATH CEASED FROM SIN; (1 Peter 4:1 KJV)

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another , and THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST HIS SON CLEANSETH US FROM ALL SIN. (1 John 1:7 KJV)

My little children, these things write I unto you, THAT YE SIN NOT. And if any man sin,we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: (1 John 2:1 KJV)

And IT SHALL BE OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, IF WE OBSERVE TO DO ALL THESE COMMANDMENTS BEFORE THE LORD OUR GOD, as he hath commanded us. (Deuteronomy 6:25 KJV)

My tongue shall speak of thy word: for ALL THY COMMANDMENTS ARE RIGHTEOUSNESS. (Psalms 119:172 KJV)

O that thou hadst HEARKENED TO MY COMMANDMENTS! then had thy peace been as a river, and THY RIGHTEOUSNESS as the waves of the sea: (Isaiah 48:18 KJV)

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, And look on the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, The earth will grow old like a garment, And those who dwell in it will die in like manner; But MY SALVATION WILL BE FOREVER, AND MY RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL NOT BE ABOLISHED. (Isaiah 51:6 NKJ)

For the moth will eat them up like a garment, And the worm will eat them like wool; But MY RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL BE FOREVER, AND MY SALVATION FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION." (Isaiah 51:8 NKJ)

Thus says the Lord: "KEEP JUSTICE, AND DO RIGHTEOUSNESS, For My salvation is about to come, And My righteousness to be revealed. (Isaiah 56:1 NKJ)

you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to OFFER UP SPIRITUAL SACRIFICES acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:5 NKJ)

Above when he said , Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and OFFERING FOR SIN thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; (Hebrews 10:8 KJV)

to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to THE BLOOD OF SPRINKLING that speaks better things than that of Abel. (Hebrews 12:24 NKJ)

elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and SPRINKLING OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST: Grace to you and peace be multiplied (1 Peter 1:2 NKJ)

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, AN OFFERING AND A SACRIFICE TO GOD FOR A SWEET-SMELLING AROMA. (Ephesians 5:2 NKJ)

ON THE LAST DAY, THAT GREAT DAY OF THE FEAST, JESUS STOOD AND CRIED OUT, SAYING, "IF ANYONE THIRSTS, LET HIM COME TO ME AND DRINK. (John 7:37 NKJ)

Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, HAVING LOVED HIS OWN WHO WERE IN THE WORLD, HE LOVED THEM TO THE END. (John 13:1 NKJ)

Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that A LITTLE LEAVEN LEAVENS THE WHOLE LUMP?  Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed CHRIST, OUR PASSOVER, WAS SACRIFICED FOR US.  Therefore LET US KEEP THE FEAST, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. (1 Corinthians 5:6-8 NKJ)

LEAVEN IS SIN...."SYMBOLICALLY, SPIRITUALLY"...we are to "purge" it and keep purging it, we remember this after Passover when we keep the Days of Unleavened Bread for 7 days--with a holy 'sacred' assembly--'church'--is commanded in the beginning (the 1st day of the Feast) and the end (the 7th day of the Feast).

WHAT ABOUT 2 PETER 3:18?

II Peter 3:18—and the Great Misunderstanding!

The apostasy should have taught all of us that there were dozens of methods that the apostates used to seduce the Church into hundreds of false doctrines.

By far the most effective—has been the gross misuse of II Peter 3:18: “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

This passage is often referred to in short with the phrase “We must grow in knowledge.” And those invoking this scripture almost always have doctrine in mind.

This verse is NOT talking about doctrine, but rather knowledge—and this is the Greek word used! A simple review reveals this. The word used here for “knowledge” is gnosis, meaning “(the act of) knowing, i.e. (by implication) knowledge.” This is not a hard word to understand. Almost everyone learns some kind of knowledge (gnosis) every day of his life. Of course, it is “the knowledge of Jesus Christ” that is the most important knowledge to learn. But make no mistake—this verse is talking about “knowledge,” not “doctrine.”

On the other hand, the Greek word for “doctrine,” found dozens of times throughout the New Testament (as is “knowledge”), is didache. This word means “instruction (the act or the matter), doctrine (what has already been taught).” Take special note of the phrase “already been taught.”

Once again, the Greek word for “doctrine” (didache) is totally different than the one for “knowledge” (gnosis). I cannot state this strongly enough. There is a very clear difference between knowledge and doctrine.

Please, for your own sake—get this straight!

General Epistle

The background and purpose of Peter’s epistles is critical to appreciate. Each of his letters is what is known as a “general epistle.” In effect, they were open letters to all brethren in the Church throughout the ages. Imagine God inspiring Peter to tell individual Christians and leaders, everywhere—for all time—to grow in doctrine through what would have to be, presumably, their own Bible research.

This is an absolutely ludicrous idea, and would be the surest way to have complete, absolute chaos and confusion—not to mention horrific division—throughout the Church, and in every era! Yet, this is the very premise upon which so many unqualified teachers are justifying departure from truth-- straight into error—directly away from “what has already been taught”! Routinely introducing outright heresies in the name of “growing in knowledge.”

WFTD, WORD FOR THE DAY 10-12-2010

WFTD....(for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified

WHAT ABOUT ROMANS 14:5-6?

ESTEEMING SPECIAL DAYS

Now let's consider Romans 14:5-6 (NKJ)

One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day (alike). Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. {6} He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.

This chapter is introduced as pertaining to doubtful things and is predominantly about food matters. (Food matters are expressly mentioned in nine verses out of twenty three.) There is no direct reference to the Sabbath here. In fact a discussion of a matter as important as the Sabbath in vv 5 & 6a would seem somewhat out of place in this chapter as a change in the observance of the day of worship would hardly be an individual matter. It would be an issue seriously affecting the whole church.

The discussion of the significance of certain days can be understood as part of the discussion of food matters rather than as a digression. The observance of "days" would best fit the immediate context if the particular days being discussed concerned fasting. It is conceivable that the problem being addressed was a dispute over the appropriate days for fasting.

There was a tradition among the Pharisees that they should fast twice a week, on Monday and Thursday. This tradition was followed by the early Christian Church.

As the fasting mentioned here is a voluntary practice, Paul's exhortation, "Let each be fully convinced in his own mind" is an appropriate response to the situation.

If Paul was referring to the Sabbath it is strange that he didn't just write, "He who observes the Sabbath etc". The fact that Paul did not specify an actual day could suggest that Paul was referring to a number of different days that had significance for Jews but not for Gentiles [OUTSIDE OF THE WEEKLY AND ANNUAL SABBATHS OF THE LORD GIVEN AS AN EVERLASTING STANDARD]

GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS....NOT ABOLISHED BUT ENDURES FOREVER (BIBLE SCRIPTURES)

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (Col 2:8)

Let no man beguile you of your reward: (Col 2:18)

Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? (Col 2:22)

OH, THAT YOU HAD HEEDED MY COMMANDMENTS! THEN YOUR PEACE WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE A RIVER, AND YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS LIKE THE WAVES OF THE SEA. (ISAIAH 48:18 NKJ)

"LISTEN TO ME, YOU WHO KNOW RIGHTEOUSNESS, YOU PEOPLE IN WHOSE HEART IS MY LAW: DO NOT FEAR THE REPROACH OF MEN, NOR BE AFRAID OF THEIR INSULTS. (ISAIAH 51:7 NKJ)

They worship Me every day, CLAIMING that they are eager to know MY WAYS and obey MY LAWS. They say they want Me to give them just laws and that they take pleasure in worshiping Me." (Isaiah 58:2 GNT)

"Oh yes, they seek me day after day and [claim to] delight in knowing my ways. As if they were an upright nation that had not ABANDONED THE RULINGS OF THEIR GOD, they ask me for just rulings and [claim] to take pleasure in closeness to God, (Isaiah 58:2 CJB)

I WILL BRING THEM BACK, AND THEY SHALL DWELL IN THE MIDST OF JERUSALEM. THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, IN TRUTH AND RIGHTEOUSNESS.' (ZECHARIAH 8:8 NKJ)

THUS SAYS THE LORD: "KEEP JUSTICE, AND DO RIGHTEOUSNESS, FOR MY SALVATION IS ABOUT TO COME, AND MY RIGHTEOUSNESS TO BE REVEALED. (ISAIAH 56:1 NKJ)

"Do you think this is right? Do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's'? (Job 35:2 NKJ)

For the moth will eat them up like a garment, And the worm will eat them like wool; But My righteousness will be forever, And My salvation from generation to generation." (Isaiah 51:8 NKJ)

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17-20 (NIV)

a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, (Titus 1:2 NIV)

God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. (Hebrews 6:18 NIV)

If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. (1 John 1:6 NIV)

I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. (1 John 2:21 NIV)

No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless. (Revelation 14:5 NIV)

The idols speak deceit, diviners see visions that lie; they tell dreams that are false, they give comfort in vain. Therefore the people wander like sheep oppressed for lack of a shepherd. (Zechariah 10:2 NIV)

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. (Romans 1:25 NIV)

Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices (Colossians 3:9 NIV)

Men of rank, how long will you shame my honor, love what is vain, chase after lies? (Selah) (Psalms 4:2 CJB)

You love evil more than good, lies rather than speaking uprightly. (Selah) (Psalms 52:3 CJB)

The prophets prophesy lies, the cohanim obey the prophets, and my people love it that way. But what will you do at the end of it all? (Jeremiah 5:31 CJB)

You dishonor me before my people for a few handfuls of barley and crumbs of bread, killing people who should not die and sparing those who should not live, by your lying to my people, who love hearing lies.' (Ezekiel 13:19 CJB)

But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. (Revelation 21:27 NKJ)

And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. (Luke 16:15 NKJ)

MAN CAN NOT ABOLISH GOD'S LAW, OR LIE AND SAY THAT GOD'S LAW, HIS RULE, HIS REIGN, HIS AUTHORITY IS DONE AWAY. AND THEY TRY TO SAY THAT HIS SON (THE ONLY ONE THAT PLEASED HIM AT ALL TIMES TOOK AWAY HIS AUTHORITY AND LOVE FROM HIS PEOPLE AND THE EARTH)...FOR THAT IS WHAT GOD'S LAW IS..THAT IS BUT A LIE OF THE DEVIL (GOD'S LAW STANDS) AND THOSE OF THE DEVIL LOVE HIS LIES.

CHRIST WAS CLEAR THAT HE DID NOT COME TO ABOLISH THE LAW.

GOD WAS CLEAR THAT HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS WOULD NOT BE ABOLISHED.

WHAT ABOUT GALATIANS 4:9-10?

Some opponents of the Holy Days cite this scripture to prove that the Holy Days were condemned by Paul. Here is what he wrote to the Galatians: “But now, after that you have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn you again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto you desire again to be in bondage? You observe days, and months, and times, and years.”

Does this passage really condemn keeping the Holy Days and the Sabbath? Many deceived ministers teach that the Galatians were returning to Holy Day and Sabbath observance.

This is impossible!

The Galatians were Gentiles and had never kept any of God’s days, or even heard of the true God before their calling. They could not return to what they had never known or practiced in the first place!

Also, read Leviticus 19:26 and Deuteronomy 18:9-10 to see that God strongly condemned keeping days, times, etc! These were humanly devised “sabbaths” and “holy days.” In Leviticus 23 and Ezekiel 20, God speaks of “My Sabbaths” and “My Feasts.” At the same time, throughout the Old Testament, He consistently condemns Israel for rebellion and for observing “your days,” “your sabbaths” and “your feasts” instead (Isa. 1:13-14; Hos. 2:11; Amos 8:10, etc.).

Nowhere does God command the observance of months. Colossians 2:8 and 20-22 show that the “weak and beggarly elements” (also referenced there) are philosophical forms of will-worship and self-denial commonly found in certain parts of the world. The word “rudiments” (Col. 2:8) is the same word translated “elements” here in Galatians, and has nothing to do with God’s Sabbath or Holy Days.

WHAT ABOUT COLOSSIANS 2:16-17?

Opponents of the Holy Days invariably justify their position by citing Colossians 2:16-17, which states, “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body (is) of Christ.” [NOTE: the word 'is' in verse 17 is NOT in the original Scriptures but was "added" by translaters for 'clarity'....though it causes more confusion]

Does this state that no one can tell Christians whether they are right or wrong regarding clean and unclean meats, Holy Day observance, Sabbath-keeping, etc.? This scripture is quoted by nearly all “churchianity” in an attempt to prove this.

But the real meaning of these verses is that Christians should not let people arbitrarily judge their conduct. Only the Church (Col. 1:18)—“the body of Christ” (2:17)—can do this. Notice that the word “is” is italicized. This means that it was not in the original Greek text. By adding it, translators blurred the true meaning of this passage.

The phrase “in meat, or in drink” (vs. 16), translated from the Greek phrase en broosei ay en posei, meaning “in eating or in drinking.” Some ascetics in Colosse were teaching that self-denial and will-worship (vs. 20-22) were God’s Way. (See Galatians 4:9-10 inset.)

Notice that the first phrase in verse 17 uses the present tense in reference to the Sabbath, Holy Days, etc. It says, in effect, “these days are [not were] a [fore]shadow of things to come.” Christians know that the Sabbath and Holy Days picture the Plan of God, which certainly involves many “things to come.” Verse 18 is a final warning to Christians not to let anyone trick them about these important issues—because it is only the Church that was to judge them (vs. 17, end).

Like the Galatians, the Colossians were Gentiles. They had never known God’s Way, and had not previously kept His Holy Days or Sabbath.

In no way do these scriptures do away with God’s laws, Sabbaths or Holy Days! In fact, the Colossians were being criticized by unconverted Gentiles because they were keeping His laws—because they were observing God’s Sabbath and Holy Days!

SCRIPTURE TEACHES THREE RESURRECTIONS

God's People, Now Blinded, Shall be Saved

In John 14:3, Christ said, “I will come again.” Revelation 5:10 explains that the saints will rule with Christ. Acts 15:16-17 expands on Christ’s promise to return and what will happen after He does: “After this I will return, and will build again the Tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue [remainder] of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom My name is called, says the Lord, who does all these things.”

This is a powerful scripture, revealing much about God’s Plan to later call the whole world. But before Christ can call all humanity and reveal His truth to it, He must train a small inner team of “firstfruits.” The modern nations that have descended from ancient Israel and Judah are not being called now. They remain blinded.

The entirety of Romans 11 offers much insight into how those blinded now will be saved later. This inspiring chapter should be carefully studied.

It speaks of all the tribes of Israel. Almost none understand who the tribes of Israel are. They suppose that the Jews, just one tribe of twelve, comprise all of Israel today. Because many Jews have continued, to some degree, to loosely keep God’s Sabbath and annual festivals, they have retained their identity in a way that the other tribes have lost.

Romans 11 describes how God will one day call and save the entire twelve tribes of Israel. Verse 26 states, “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion [Zion] the Deliverer [the soon-coming Jesus Christ], and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.”

The modern-day nations (just tribes grown larger) of Israel have not yet had ungodliness removed from their spiritual condition. Soon they will. They are now blinded. Soon they will see.

Many hundreds of millions of Israelites—past, present and future—will then come to understand the glorious purpose of God’s Plan. Though it is coming soon, that time is not yet here. (Ezekiel 37 describes the physical resurrection of all the vast numbers of deceased Israelites.)

God is not now working with the nations of Israel (the 10 lost tribes do not know their identity today, but God does; however the one tribe that is known today is the tribe of Judah, the 'physical' bloodline of the Messiah. This has much to do with the fact that they kept God's 7th day Sabbath, however they do not accept God's Passover, the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Traditional Christianity says that it accepts Christ as their Messiah and Passover, yet they don't keep God's 7th day Sabbath (as Christ did) nor God's Passover (as Christ commanded His followers 'disciples' to do in remembrance of Him; when He introduced the 'new' symbols of the Passover-the 'unleavened bread' and 'wine'). In verse 25, Paul warns the Gentile Romans to be careful: “For I would not, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.” God does not want us to be ignorant of this “mystery.” (His plan). God actually shows His people an 'outline' of His plan for the salvation of man through His annual and weekly Sabbaths.

God is dealing with many Gentiles in this age, along with many physical Israelites scattered throughout the nations. But in the future He will deal with “all Israel” to the end that they will be saved! And we will see that later He will also deal with all Gentile nations.

In front of most traditional churches stands one or more crosses ('STAUROS'). This has become the quintessential symbol of professing Christianity, supposedly serving as a reminder of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

However, aside from its pagan overtones, it is used as a trite, superficial symbol that trivializes a pivotal event—Christ’s resurrection—into nothing more than a marketing gimmick.

In its simplest form, when the Bible references resurrections, it is referring to restoring life to someone after he has died. This could be from a physical death to a physical life, or, as with Jesus Christ, from a physical death to spiritthe goal for all of God’s people [and eventually mankind].

Like every other biblical truth, religions of this world blur, distort or hide the clear teachings of the resurrections as found in God’s Word. The confusion stems from their misunderstanding of resurrections, and of when and how often they occur.

The most known attempt to justify their understanding is the popular false doctrine of the immortal soul. This feeble effort does nothing but add confusion.

Imagine one has within him an immortal soul—inherent life. What would be the need or purpose of a resurrection? Upon death, he would already be alive as a spirit being, “looking down from heaven,” as the thinking goes. This would mean that any resurrection would bring a supposed immortal spirit back to a PHYSICAL body! How awful! Freed from the bonds of the physical body, and supposedly living in heaven for decades, centuries or millennias, one would be forced to return to a physical form!

The Bible is Clear

God’s people understand that we do not have an immortal soul. When we die, we are dead. ['spiritual sleep-only God can awaken us, for it is His 'breathe' which gives life, by His word all things are sustained; man was created mortal, human beings-"for a purpose, according to the plan of God", while angels were created immortal spirit beings "for a purpose, according to the design of God".]

But without a resurrection, each of us will simply remain dead!

God’s purpose for mankind, the reason for Christ’s Church, the truth of the gospel, warning the nations of Israel, and countless other doctrines would be irrelevant without a resurrection to eternal life (I Cor. 15:13-19). Christianity serves no purpose if nothing exists for us beyond this physical, limited and temporary life.

Clear instruction and basic logic did not stop false ministers in the first century from teaching against the concept or need for the resurrection.

However, Jesus was most plain—and repeated His teaching on the matter throughout the New Testament: “Marvel not at this [a growing number did!]: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

GOD also inspired the prophets and patriarchs to teach of a coming resurrection in Job 14:14-15 and Daniel 12:2.

As the “Firstborn among many brethren” (Rom. 8:29), Christ’s resurrection is extremely important for all true Christians. Many in the world understand Jesus’ death paid for our sins—but they miss the all-important reason for His resurrection: “We were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” (Rom. 5:10).

Jesus Christ now lives in and through His servants (Gal. 2:20). God the Father, through the power of His Holy Spirit, resurrected Christ to a glorious spirit body—and will do the same for those following His truth and who live the way of “give.”

Three Resurrections

Much confusion has arisen about the purpose and number of resurrections, because most fail to understand that God’s plan is done decently and in order (I Cor. 15:22-23).

The First Resurrection will consist of 144,000 saints with whom God has been working for the last 6,000 years, those begotten with the Holy Spirit (vs. 20-23; also see I Thessalonians 4:16.) The term “First Resurrection” is found in Revelation 20:5-6, a wonderful moment that will usher in the Millennium.

Verse 5 also references the Second Resurrection in an inset or parenthetical thought: “But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.” Obviously occurring after the Millennium, the magnitude of this event is almost impossible to comprehend. Scores of billions of people who have never understood or known the true God will be resurrected to physical life and given a chance to obey Him and develop His character. Read Revelation 20:13 to understand the colossal scope of this larger resurrection. Ezekiel 37:1-14 will further build a picture in your mind of all that will be needed as billions are resurrected and taught the truth. They will be given 100 years to grow in holy, righteous character and be born into the God Family as spirit beings (Isa. 65:20). [first 'created' in the image of God 'as physical' beings-temporary but God's plan is for us to be 'created' in the image of God 'as spirit' beings-eternal in His family].

Regrettably, not everyone will be willing to obey God. After the 100 years, some, few will actually choose the Third Resurrection (THOSE GIVEN ETERNAL LIFE AT THE END OF THE 100 YRS AND THOSE WHO CHOOSE ETERNAL DEATH 'STILL GO AGAINST GOD-HIS WILL, HIS WAY, HIS WORD-AS SATAN HAS AND MAN HAS "OVERALL" FROM THE BEGINNING'-- AT THE END OF THE 100 YEAR JUDGEMENT PERIOD "KNOWN AS THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT". Both Daniel 12:2 and John 5:29 reference this event, but it is covered in more detail in the book of Revelation: “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Rev. 20:14-15).

Finally, notice that God mercifully erases even the memory of those who are cast into the lake of fire: “They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore have you visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish” (Isa. 26:14).

FIRST RESURRECTION (AFTER 6,000 YRS-AT THE RETURN OF CHRIST-144,000 WILL HAVE BEEN REDEEMED BACK TO GOD THROUGH CHRIST AND BORN AGAIN SPIRIT BEINGS INTO GOD'S FAMILY, KINGDOM. (THIS IS THE EARLY "SPRING" SPIRITUAL HARVEST OF GOD-represented by the two loaves with leaven that were offered on Pentecost).

because they can no longer die. Being children of the Resurrection, they are like angels; indeed, they are children of God. (Luke 20:36 CJB )

SECOND RESURRECTION-AFTER THE 1,000 YRS MANY WHO LIVED DURING THE REIGN OF CHRIST WILL BE RESURRECTED AS 'SPIRIT' BEINGS INTO GOD'S FAMILY-WILL HAVE BEEN "REDEEMED BACK TO GOD (AND 'THE APPOINTED TIME' WHEN ALL WHO HAVE EVER DIED-AND NOT YET BEEN BORN AGAIN AS SPIRIT BEINGS- AFTER 7,000 YEARS ARE RAISED BACK TO "PHYSICAL" LIFE AND LIVE FOR 100 YEARS).

THIRD RESURRECTION-(AFTER THE 100 YEARS THOSE WHO CHOOSE "LIFE" WILL BE BORN AGAIN NOW AS SPIRIT BEINGS)-THIS IS THE GREAT "FALL" HARVEST. AND THOSE NOT FOUND IN "THE BOOK OF LIFE" SHALL DIE, BE THROWN INTO THE FIRE-TREE BRANCHES THAT BREAK OFF NO LONGER BEAR FRUIT AND ARE CAST INTO THE FIRE- (THAT WHICH WAS PREPARED FOR THE 'SPIRIT, IMMORTAL BEINGS' WHO REBELLED AGAINST GOD'. IT IS APPOINTED TO ALL MAN TO DIE "ONCE", BUT THE SOUL THAT CHOOSES LIFE RECEIVES GOD'S GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE AND THE SOUL WHICH SINS, DIES, FOR ALL ETERNITY. GOD WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE HIS SPIRIT TO THE "WICKED" AT THIS POINT. WE CHOOSE LIFE OR DEATH, GOD'S WAY OR DEATH, FOR GOD IS LIFE!

REMEMBER a loving, merciful God gives every human being a chance to be born into His Family.

LET'S REVIEW

The State of Man after Death

(1) Is it appointed unto all mankind once to die? Hebrews 9:27; I Corinthians 15:22.

(2) When Christ became human, was He subject to death as was all mankind? Hebrews 2:14.

(3) Was Christ assured that His soul (being or body) would not be left in hell 'THE GRAVE' Psalm 16:10; Acts 2:27.

Comment: In Psalm 16:10, the term “hell” comes from the Hebrew word sheol, meaning “grave.” Likewise, the term “hell” in Acts 2:27 comes from hades in the Greek, also meaning “grave.” [
Hell is an Anglo-Saxon word used to translate one Hebrew word and three Greek words in the King James Version of the Old and New Testaments. The Hebrew word that “hell” translated was Sheol. The three Greek words often translated “hell” are hades, gehenna, and tartaroo.]

(4) What is the destiny of every mortal body upon death? Genesis 3:19.

(5) Does a common event befall both man and beast upon death? Ecclesiastes 3:19-20.

(6) Does a common event befall both the righteous and wicked upon death? Ecclesiastes 9:2.

(7) Are the dead conscious or able to think? Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10; Psalm 115:17; 146:4.

Comment: If man is not able to consciously think after he dies, then neither is he able to feel pain or suffering. Therefore, the concept of eternal suffering in hell is contrary to what Scripture indicates about man’s fate.

Resurrection and Judgment

(1) Is judgment a certainty for all men, just as the certainty of death? Hebrews 9:27.

(2) How did Christ defeat death? Acts 2:31.

(3) Does the way one lives his life determine which resurrection awaits him? John 5:28-29; Daniel 12:2; II Peter 2:9.

Comment: Also read the following scriptures: Prov. 24:12; Jer. 25:14; Matt. 16:27; II Cor. 11:15; II Tim. 4:14; Rev. 2:23, especially noting “according to…works.”

(4) Does the Bible refer to a first resurrection? Revelation 20:6; I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 4:16.

Comment: The dead in Christ come up in the first resurrection, which occurs at the seventh and final trumpet of the seven trumpet plagues. [THOSE 144,000 REDEEMED BACK TO GOD THROUGH CHRIST DURING THE FIRST 6,000 YRS OF MANKIND. THE TWO LOAVES FOR "PENTECOST" REPRESENT THIS, THEY HAVE "LEAVEN" BUT ARE REDEEMED BACK THROUGH THE OFFERING OF THE HIGH PRIEST, CHRIST. ONE LOAF REPRESENTS THOSE WHO LIVED DURING THE 1ST 4,000 YRS-BEFORE CHRIST AND THE OTHER LOAF REPRESENTS THOSE WHO LIVED DURING THE 2,000 YRS AFTER THE COMING OF CHRIST-MOST WILL BE "SLEEP" BY HIS 2ND COMING YET THERE WILL BE SOME WHO LIVE AT HIS 2ND COMING AND WHO WILL BE RESURRECTED FROM MORTAL LIFE TO IMMORTAL LIFE IN 'A TWINKLING OF AN EYE' BUT NOT BEFORE THOSE (IN CHRIST) WHO SLEEP-ARE ALREADY DEAD AT HIS 2ND COMING. JOHN SAW THIS 'GREAT MULTITUDE' AND GOD THROUGH CHRIST, GAVE IT'S NUMBER.

(5) How much time elapses between the first and the second resurrection? Revelation 20:5.

Comment: The first sentence in verse 5 states, “But the rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years were finished.” This sentence is a parenthetical thought, discussing a resurrection following the first one. The next sentence states, “This is the first resurrection.” This short statement applies to verse 4, which discusses the first resurrection. It also ties in with verse 6, but is not related with the parenthetical expression, which breaks the flow of thought.

(6) Are those who are qualifying for the first resurrection being judged now? I Peter 4:17.

(7) Where is the reference to the second resurrection? Revelation 20:11-12.

Comment: Verse 12 is discussing the billions of people coming up in this resurrection standing before the judgment seat. They are not being sentenced. Rather, the people in this general resurrection live one hundred years (Isa. 65:20) and are judged as to how they live their lives. The “books” that are opened to them are the books of the Bible, which are opened to their understanding. These billions of people will then learn God’s truth for the first time, and most will overcome sins that plagued them throughout their lives. Yet, their reward will not approach that of those in the first resurrection.

(8)What does it mean to be in the third resurrection? Revelation 20:13-15; Matthew 25:41, 46 (first part).

Comment: This is the resurrection in which people are destroyed in the lake of fire. This is the second death, mentioned in Revelation 20:6.

(9) Is it God’s will that anyone suffer the fate of the lake of fire? II Peter 3:9; I Timothy 2:4.

Sin Leads to Death—Not Everlasting Punishing

...EVERLASTING DEATH 'PUNISHMENT' FOR SIN
(1) What happens to the soul (person or being) that sins? Ezekiel 18:4, 20; Hebrews 10:26-27.

(2) What does the act of committing sin earn such a person? Romans 6:23 (first part); James 1:15.

(3) What did Christ say would be the fate of anyone who did not repent? Luke 13:5.

Comment: “Death” means the cessation of life. “Perish” means to suffer death or destruction.

Neither term implies a type of existence in a state of perpetual torment or torture.

ETERNAL PUNISHMENT IS NOT ETERNAL PUNISHING, THE WAGES OF SIN ARE DEATH, ETERNAL DEATH AND THE REWARD FOR OBEYING THE WORD OF GOD (TO THE END OF ONE'S LIFE) IS THE "GIFT" OF ETERNAL LIFE. A "GIFT" IS FREELY GIVEN, BUT NOT RECEIVED UNLESS "ACCEPTED"

Summary

GOD IS PREPARING HIS FAMILY, THE ELOHIM FAMILY AND DESIRES THAT ALL TURN FROM SIN (THROUGH REPENTANCE-THROUGH THE PASSOVER OFFERING)-WE MUST TURN TO GOD. HE IS OUR CREATOR, AND HE CREATED US FOR A PURPOSE, OUT OF LOVE. BUT GOD IS HOLY AND HE WILL NOT DWELL IN SIN (HE LIES NOT). FOR US TO HAVE HIS ETERNAL LIFE WITHIN US WE MUST TURN FROM 'SIN', OUR WICKED WAYS-THAT WHICH GOES AGAINST GOD, HIS WORD, HIS WAYS!!

In God’s Plan of Salvation, He intends for mankind to fulfill the great purpose for being by seeking to grow in righteous character.

A comparative few will be in the first resurrection, and be honored with great responsibility as kings and priest.

Next will be billions who live in the time of the millennium without the deception of Satan, except for a little season after the end of the thousand years.

Then comes the opportunity for the many billions who lived since the time of the creation of man down through the course of history without the true knowledge of God. They too will be given their chance for salvation—this time without Satan’s deception.

Yet, in all the stages of opportunities for salvation, there will be those who willfully reject God’s Way (Heb. 10:26-27).

In order to develop His character in mankind, God had to create them as free moral agents, who could potentially choose or reject His way. This possibility has always existed. Those who reject His Way would be forever miserable as spirit beings, remaining unteachable and unhappy with God’s Way. God would not allow additional rebellious beings to live forever, as will Satan and his demons.

Many believe that being “born again” means having a “religious experience” or “accepting Christ.” Also, this is believed to constitute the process of conversion. Anyone having “experienced” this is said to be “saved.” Yet, is this what the Bible says?

Therefore, out of mercy and justice, God will eliminate such people quickly, rather than have them exist forever in a miserable state. These people will not be tormented and tortured for all eternity—they will quickly perish in the fire, which will erase their existence.

GOD IS A GOOD AND JUST GOD, HE WILL GIVE EVERYONE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR AND RECEIVE HIS WORD. CHRIST IS GOD'S FAITHFUL AND TRUE WITNESS AND SHALL JUDGE ALL ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS, ACCORDING TO GOD'S WORD. GOD KNOWS IF WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACCEPT TRUTH AND GOD KNOWS THE HEART [GOD TRULY KNOWS "ALL THINGS"], SO THIS IS WHY HE IS THE ONLY JUDGE OF HIS CREATION 'MANKIND' AND HE GAVE ALL AUTHORITY TO JUDGE (HIS PEOPLE) TO HIS FIRST HEIR (OF THE KINGDOM) JESUS CHRIST [Y'SHUA THE MESSIAH]-THE ONE WHO FIRST CAME AS OUR PASSOVER, SO THAT WE COULD BE REDEEMED BACK TO GOD THROUGH HIS BLOOD, FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY THE PENALTY FOR THOSE SINS.

GOD SAYS THAT HIS THOUGHTS ARE NOT OUR THOUGHTS, FOR HIS WAYS ARE HIGHER THAN OURS, GOD ALSO SAYS THAT WE CAN NOT EVEN CONCEIVE 'WITH OUR MORTAL, PHYSICAL, HUMAN BRAINS-ABILITIES (THOUGHTS, IMAGINATIONS) WHAT GOOD HE HAS IN STORE FOR HIS FAMILY. HE LOVES US, HE LOVES ALL AND DESIRES THAT NONE "PERISH"...BUT THAT ALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, IN HIS KINGDOM, HIS FAMILY....THE NEW JERUSALEM 'HEAVEN ON EARTH'!

IT NEEDS TO BE UNDERSTOOD THAT WE CAN ONLY KNOW WHAT GOD HAS REVEALED TO US (OUR HEARTS, MINDS AND 'SPIRIT' ESSENCE) FOR A REASON, THROUGH HIS WORD, HE INSPIRED THE WRITING OF THE HOLY BIBLE THROUGH HIS HOLY SPIRIT, HE INSPIRED HIS O.T. PROPHETS THROUGH HIS HOLY SPIRIT AND HE INSPIRED HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST, WHOM HAD THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD POURED OUT ON HIM WITHOUT MEASURE. NO SCRIPTURE IS OPEN FOR PERSONAL INTERPRETATION, ALL OF SCRIPTURE MUST BE USE. ONE CAN NOT SEE THE FULL PICTURE WITH JUST ONE PIECE OF THE PUZZLE, YET GOD ALONE SEES THE FULL PICTURE "KNOWS ALL THINGS". CHRIST MADE IT CLEAR WHILE HE WAS IN 'FLESH' STILL, THAT HE NOR EVEN THE HOLY ANGELS OF GOD KNEW THE TIMING OF 'THE END OF THE AGE OF MAN'S SELF RULE'. BUT GOD DOES NOTHING WITHOUT REVEALING IT TO HIS PROPHETS, JESUS HAS BEEN IN HEAVEN WITH GOD FOR ALMOST 2,000 YEARS. JESUS IS THE ONE WHO OPENS THE SEALS IN REVELATION; HE WILL KNOW EXACTLY HOW MANY DAYS ARE B/T HIS OPENING OF THE SEALS AND HIS SECOND RETURN TO REIGN ON THE EARTH. SCRIPTURES TELL US THAT THERE HAS BEEN A PLACE PREPARED FOR THE ETERNAL TORTURE AND PUNISHMENT OF SATAN AND THE ANGELS (DEMONS) WHO REBELLED WITH HIM. NOW RATHER OR NOT 'THE WICKED' ARE CAST HERE AFTER "THE FIRST DEATH" OR "THE SECOND DEATH" GOD HAS NOT REVEALED THAT IN AND THROUGH HIS WORD. THE QUESTION WE NEED TO ASK IS WHY WOULD GOD NEED TO REVEAL SUCH A THING TO HIS TRUE CHURCH, WOULD IT BE SOMETHING PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO KEEP THE FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST AND THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, NO OF COURSE NOT! GOD WANTS US TO COME TO HIM BY FREE WILL, HE CREATED US OUT OF LOVE, EACH ONE CREATED TO ONE DAY BE 'CHILDREN IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD', HOW BLESSED ARE WE. GOD IS GOOD. WE SHOULD WANT TO OBEY HIM OUT OF LOVE, OUT OF HIS LOVE FOR US AND OUR LOVE FOR HIM-AS HE WANTS TO SPEND ETERNITY WITH US WE SHOULD WANT THE SAME-WE SHOULD WANT, DESIRE TO SPEND ETERNITY WITH OUR FATHER (WHICH ART IN HEAVEN). IF IT WASN'T FOR GOD NONE OF US WOULD BE HERE, NO ON DESERVES LIFE, YET GOD GAVE LIFE TO ALL WHO LIVE AND HE GIVES MORE BLESSINGS AND THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE TO THOSE WHO CHOOSE HIS WAY. MAN HAS LIVED THE 'WAY OF SATAN' FOR ALMOST 6,000 YEARS NOW. YET, WE SEE THE WORLD, IT'S WICKED, FULL OF CONFUSION AND HATRED, FULL OF LIES AND MISUNDERSTANDINGS, FULL OF POVERTY, PAIN AND GRIEF. GOD DID NOT INTEND THIS. HIS LAWS ARE AS REAL AS THE LAWS OF 'GRAVITY AND INERTIA'. WHEN 'PEOPLE', 'NATIONS', 'INDIVIDUALS', HOLD TO THEM, TRUE PEACE, PROSPERITY, HAPPINESS, JOY AND LOVE COMES ABOUT.

BUT WHAT IS THE WITNESS: MAN HAS ALWAYS RESISTED 'THE WAY OF GOD' (SINCE THE TIME OF ADAM AND EVE), THOUGH GOD'S WAY IS THE ONLY WAY. FOR HE IS BOTH CREATOR AND SUSTAINER OF THE UNIVERSE AND ALL WITHIN IT.

"At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.  And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever. "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." (Daniel 12:1-4 NJK)

And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. (Daniel 12:9-10 NKJ)

But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days."  (Daniel 12:1 NKJ)
